Sympathy for the Devil still slithers, the congas and woo-woo chorus building around Jagger like a circle closing in. No Expectations is the heartbreaker here, Brian Jones slide guitar sighing between Nicky Hopkins piano notes. Then theres Street Fighting Man, all overloaded acoustics and tight snare, somehow bigger the more stripped it gets. This LP pressing gives the band more breathing room, and the low end sits deeper without blurring the mids. Imaging feels clearer too, so the handclaps and percussion land right where they should.
